Dawn Hamling – Testimonial

Occasional back problems gradually crept up on me over the years but earlier this year they got a lot worse. I had to stop my work as a personal trainer and couldn’t do much housework or many of the things I enjoyed (hill walking, gardening, weight training) in order to stay relatively pain free.

Physio and tablets were not helping so I paid for an MRI scan and spinal steroid injection but still no improvement.

I was getting very despondent but then I came across Mr Pals website. I rang to see if he was taking new clients bearing in mind the covid situation and was pleased to be told that yes he was.

A few days later I had forwarded my MRI scan to him and was on a video chat with him.

I must admit it came as quite a shock to be told that I needed decompression and fixation surgery as the stenosis was severe and being caused by a cyst and thickened ligaments and not being helped by one vertebrae having slipped forward of the one above it. Mr Pal could see how shocked and upset I was being told this news and was so reassuring and even took the time to go through everything again with my partner. A few days later I got a call to say Mr Pal could do my operation in two weeks time. Now panic did set in but a further phone call and video call saw Mr Pal reassuring me further and I decided to go ahead.

So it’s now two weeks since my operation. The operation took about 5 hours but I was out of bed the following day and back home the day after that! Mr Pal saw me each day I was in hospital and I shall be seeing him on a video call next week.

It’s too early yet to know how many of the things I have had to give up I will be able to do again but Mr Pal is confident I’ll be able to so so so am I.

I would thoroughly recommend Mr Pal to anyone, he is very professional in his work but also so understanding and takes time to help you overcome your fears (which was quite a job in my case)
